Sharing your screen from a Mac in Teams

How to Enable Screen Sharing on a Mac.

Please do the following before getting on a call that will be using Screen Sharing

Click on the Apple Icon at the top left-hand corner and select “System Preferences”

On the main menu, click on “Security & Privacy”

In the “Privacy” tab, scroll down on the left-side until you see “Screen Recording”

*By default, Teams should be listed. However, if it is not, click on the plus icon and select “Microsoft Teams” under the Applications folder*

Click on the Lock icon (where it says “Click the lock to make changes”) and enter your password you use to sign into your Mac (if it is a Millikin assigned Mac, you will use your Millikin password).

Once you sign in, Teams should no longer be greyed out. Click on the checkbox next to it. If you have Teams already open, it will ask you to “Quit & Reopen” Team. Go ahead and do so.

If the checkbox has a checkmark, Teams will now Screen Share on all future calls.

Important

If you have not enabled Teams in the “Screen Recording” Privacy settings and are trying to share your screen while you are on a call, you will be asked to enable it via a pop-up window. Click on the “Security & Privacy” button on that window to be redirected to the setting and do steps 4-6. You will have to “Quit & Reopen” Teams for the changes to be made.
