How To Use Microsoft OneDrive
What is OneDrive?
OneDrive is a cloud storage service developed by Microsoft that allows users to store, access, and share files from any device with an internet connection.
Think of it as your virtual filing cabinet, where you can securely store documents, photos, videos, and more, without taking up space on your device’s hard drive.
Each Millikin University Student, Staff, and Faculty Member has 5TB of OneDrive Cloud Storage Space available for them to use as needed.
Key Uses of OneDrive:
File Storage and Backup: OneDrive provides a secure place to store your files. The desktop client can be configured to automatically back up your data, ensuring you don’t lose important documents, photos, or videos.
File Sharing and Collaboration: You can easily share files and folders with others, allowing for seamless collaboration. Multiple users can work on the same document simultaneously, making it ideal for team projects.
Access Anywhere: With OneDrive, you can access your files from any device—whether it’s a computer, tablet, or smartphone. This flexibility ensures you always have your important files at your fingertips.
Sync Across Devices: The OneDrive client can sync your files across all your devices. Any changes made to a file on one device are automatically updated on all other devices.
Integration with Microsoft 365: OneDrive works seamlessly with Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365), allowing you to save and access your Office documents directly from the cloud.
