If you are considering the purchase of a new computer, below is a list of suggested specifications: 

Windows Operating System:

  • O.S. Version: Windows 11

  • C.P.U: Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i7 – 12th Gen or Newer

  • Memory: 16 GB RAM

  • Storage: 512 GB SSD

Apple Operating System:

  • O.S. Version: macOS 14

  • C.P.U: Apple M1 or Newer

  • Memory: 16 GB RAM

  • Storage: 512 GB SSD

Please Note: 

  • Contact your academic advisor or faculty member to determine if there are department or course-specific requirements. 

  • We do not recommend using Google ChromeOS / Chromebooks at Millikin University due to software incompatibilities and poor internet connectivity performance on the campus network.
